Fast-growing Latino chain opens first of eight area units 08/19/04 SOCCORO, TX - August, 19, 2004 - Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, has opened its first location in Socorro on Monday, August 16. The first of eight to open in the El Paso/Las Cruces area, the store, located at 10755 N. Loop, Suite O in Socorro, had an excellent opening night, says Judd Phillips, partner of Latino Pizza Mangement LLC which is developing the Pizza Patron brand in the area. "Three Pizza Patróns opened in Texas that same night and we all beat the company's previous opening night record," says Phillips. "We feel a strong connection with the Hispanic community here and look forward to becoming an active part of this community." Located in the Socorro Pointe Shopping Center, the store is open from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 4:00 to midnight on Fridays, 12:00 p.m. to midnight Saturdays, and 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sundays. Call in orders can be placed by calling 915-859-1113. The group will be opening its second location at 8111 N. Loop Dr., Ste. A2 in El Paso in two weeks, Phillips says. Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 117, either open or under development. Pizza Patrón features festive and fun carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. The menu is value oriented, offering high quality, freshly prepared pizzas at very low price points. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores, as well, from crushed Roma tomatoes. Only 100% mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large deluxe pizza with everything is only $6.99.
