Fast-growing Latino chain continues growth in Texas 03/14/06 Rio Grande City, TX - March, 14, 2006 - Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, opened its first Rio Grande City, Texas location on Dec. 7, 2005. The restaurant seats 24 with additional seating for carryout customers and was the chain's second dine-in location. The store, located at 4370 E. U.S. Highway 83, is owned by Estrella Ventures. The new restaurant also features Pizza Lista (Ready Now), Pizza Patrón's signature ready now pizza. The new product is a large 15-inch pizza, available in pepperoni and cheese and costs $4.99. The restaurant is 1,600 sq. ft. and incorporates the same vibrant, energetic Latin atmosphere that is a signature of Pizza Patrón's carryout stores. Custom art features stylized photography, with inspirational testimonials of individuals who are expressing the "Llegale! (go get it) spirit in their lives." "Llegale!" is Pizza Patrón's long-term brand campaign theme and reflects the soul of the company. A large mural also adorns the interior creating a distinct Latin ambiance in the dining room. The store will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, noon to midnight on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 141, either open or under development. Pizza Patrón features fun and festive carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods and recently added its first dine-in location in May 2005. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. As well, the sauce is prepared fresh in the stores from crushed Roma tomatoes and only 100 percent mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large "La Patrona" pizza with everything is only $7.99.
