Fast-growing Latino chain continues growth in Texas 05/08/06 Killeen, TX - May, 08, 2006 - Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, opened its first Killeen, Texas location on May 8, 2006. The store, located at 1000 Lowes Blvd., Suite 400 (corner of Trimmier Road and Lowes Boulevard), is owned by Mike Moore Jr. and Sr. of OPC, LLC. The Moore's also own the two Pizza Patrón locations in Waco. "We are excited about bringing the Pizza Patrón concept to Killeen," said Moore Jr. "We have been welcomed with open arms and look forward to creating the same connection with the Hispanic community in Killeen as we have in Waco." The new restaurant also features Pizza Lista (Ready Now), Pizza Patrón's signature ready now pizza. The new product is a large 15-inch pizza, available in pepperoni and cheese and costs $4.99. The restaurant features a vivid color palette and resonates with an energetic and festive Latin influence that is a trademark of Pizza Patrón stores. The store is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Call-in orders can be placed by calling 254-501-4466. Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 141, either open or under development. Pizza Patrón features fun and festive carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods and recently added its first dine-in location in May 2005. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared using only fresh-packed crushed Roma tomatoes and a proprietary blend of spices and herbs, and only 100 percent mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large "La Patrona" pizza with everything is only $7.99.
