Dallas, TX - May, 28, 2006 - Thousands of people from all over Dallas/Fort Worth converged at the Dallas Coliseum for the one-day Charreada (Mexican Rodeo) exhibition. The event included a traditional Mexican rodeo, musical entertainment, folklorico dancing, and more.
As a sponsor of the event, Pizza Patrón was there in full force featuring branded field boards, banners and signs throughout the stadium. Pizza Patrón also hosted a concession stand providing hot, fresh pizza to visitors and participants. In addition to high visibility inside the arena, staff positioned wrapped vehicles and a 20' inflatable icon near the front entrance.
"We are proud to participate in events like this which feature the unique traditions and culture of Mexico" said Ernesto Hernandez, director of operations for Pizza Patrón Inc.
Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 55 and more than 40 under development. Pizza Patrón features fun and festive carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods and recently added its first dine-in location in May 2005. In 2006, Pizza Patron introduced its 'Lista™' program, offering ready now large 15-inch pizzas, available in pepperoni and cheese for $4.99 in all 59 locations, making it the only franchise in the United States to offer a 15-inch large ready now pizza for $4.99. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores from crushed Roma tomatoes and only 100 percent mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large 'La Patrona' pizza with everything is only $7.99.
