Over 100,000 Latinos attend yearly event 04/29/06 Irving, TX - April, 29, 2006 - Over 100,000 people from all over Dallas/Fort Worth upheld the long-standing tradition of converging on Texas Stadium to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The Cinco de Mayo 2006 festival offered three stages of well-known regional Mexican bands. Admission to the event was free, so the incentive was there to venture into the fray. There were masses of people in front of all the stages, particularly the star-studded "La Que Buena" KESS-FM (107.9) platform where Conjunto Atardecer, Intocable, Cardenales de Nuevo Leon and Patrulla 81 cranked out the south-of-the-border sounds. A regular sponsor of this event, Pizza Patrón maintained a highly visible presence. Branded vehicles, a 20' inflatable icon, branded tents, banners and signs were on display in strategic areas to promote brand awareness. The Patrón tent was a constant flurry of activity, complete with a prize wheel, DJ, soccer juggling competition and basketball throws. Visitors to the Patrón tent took turns spinning the prize wheel with the opportunity to win free pizzas, branded t-shirts and caps. As always, the booth was a crowd favorite, boasting some of the longest lines at the event. Pizza Patrón staff members also hosted an electrifying soccer circle, where visitors showcased their soccer skills to win t-shirts and other prizes. Pizza Patrón fans were spotted throughout the day sporting their branded apparel. In what is quickly becoming a tradition, long after the rest of the tents and booths had been taken down, the Patrón tent was still going strong. A large crowd gathered in the area close to the DJ and danced well into the night. About Pizza Patrón |
