Chain Seeks to Improve In-Store Customer Experience

12/10/07

Balch Springs, TX - December, 10, 2007
- Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, celebrated the Grand Opening of its newly designed store model on December 10, 2007. The store which features their Lista Drive-thru" window, is located at 12227 Lake June in Balch Springs, Texas (across the street from Wal Mart) and is owned by Antonio Swad, founder of Pizza Patrón. "We are very excited about every aspect of the new design," said Andrew Gamm, director of Brand Development for Pizza Patrón. "2007 was a huge year for our brand. We made great strides on our menu with the addition of BreadStix", QuesoStix" and the current rollout of our new dessert item, ChurroStix". Now, with the addition of our new lobby environment, we have vastly improved the retail environment for our customers inside the store."

Existing customers will recognize the vivid color palette and festive Latin music that is a trademark of Pizza Patrón stores, but will surprised by the many changes.

The new restaurant will offer the brand's signature Pizza Lista" item, a 15-inch, X-Large pepperoni pizza that is Fresh n Hot"; for only $6 every day. Some of the new features include a smaller lobby, lowered customer order counter, custom 3-D six-panel menu system, community message board, heated countertop merchandiser, single-digit pricing and discounted meal combos for the first time in the company's 21 year history.

"We recognize that the pizza business is a dynamic industry," said Antonio Swad, founder of Pizza Patrón. "Pizza Patron wants to continue to be innovative and take intelligent risk. We will do almost anything that benefits our customers and sets us apart from the competition."

The store is open from 11am-10pm Sun-Thurs and 11am-Midnight Fri-Sat. The Lista Drive-thru" currently operates on the same schedule as the store.

About Pizza Patrón
Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations in Dallas to 70 in five states, with more than 40 more under development. Pizza Patrón features fun and festive pizza stores that are community-based in Spanish-speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. In 2006 Pizza Patrón successfully introduced new products like Patrón Dippers" and Fiesta Wings", and rolled-out their Pizza Lista" program nationally. In 2007, they added BreadStix" and QuesoStix" to the menu and have begun market testing of ChurroStix". Pizza Patrón restaurants include a dine-in store model, the Pizza Patrón Rapidito" (airports/malls) model, the Tiendita" (portable mini-store extension) and their Lista Drive-thru" concept. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores from crushed Roma tomatoes and only 100% mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large 'La Patrona' pizza with everything is only $7.99.
