Pizza Patrón Opens New Store In Houston, Texas
First of Many Houston Locations

02/24/04

HOUSTON - February, 24, 2004
- Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, has opened its first location in Houston. The store, located across from the Fiesta Shopping Center at 1618 Spencer Highway, is owned by South Houston Pizza #1, LLC, a company formed by Rick Sparkman and C.C. Theophine. The store is the first of fourteen that the partnership will open says Sparkman.

"We are excited to have our first store open," said Sparkman. "We really look forward to opening more stores very soon."

Rick and C.C.'s second location is currently under construction at 75th & Lawndale and is due to open March 3.

Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. In March 2003, he opened the new Pizza Patrón corporate office to begin offering franchises. Since, the brand has grown from four locations to 92, either open or under development.

Pizza Patrón features festive and fun carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. The units are open from 4pm to 10pm Monday through Thursday, 4pm to 12am on Friday, 12pm to 12am Saturdays and 12pm to 10pm Sundays.

The menu is value oriented, offering high quality, freshly prepared pizzas at very low price points. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores, as well, from crushed Roma tomatoes. Only 100% mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large deluxe pizza with everything is only $6.99.
