Located at University & Locust 04/07/04 DENTON - April, 07, 2004 - Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, has opened its first location in Denton, Texas. The store, located at 111 E. University (University & Locust), is owned by DC Pizza, Inc., a company formed by James Cook and Jerry Duty. "The store has started out strong," said Cook. "We really look forward to seeing what happens as Denton becomes familiar with the Pizza Patrón brand." Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. In March 2003, he opened the new Pizza Patrón corporate office to begin offering franchises. Pizza Patrón features festive and fun carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. The units are open from 4pm to 10pm Monday through Thursday, 4pm to 12am on Friday, 12pm to 12am Saturdays and 12pm to 10pm Sundays. The menu is value oriented, offering high quality, freshly prepared pizzas at very low price points. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores, as well, from crushed Roma tomatoes. Only 100% mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large deluxe pizza with everything is only $6.99.
